Multislice Computed Tomography After Left Main Drug-Eluting Stenting
نویسنده
چکیده
Coronary stenting has become the dominant therapy for patients referred for coronary revascularization. Because of their documented efficacy in reducing instent restenosis (ISR),1–3 drug-eluting stents (DES) are used for this purpose in most percutaneous revascularization procedures. Although intended primarily for use in native, de novo stenoses in coronary vessels 2.5 to 3.5 mm in diameter, DES currently are implanted in a diverse array of patients and lesions, including total occlusions, large and small vessels, acute myocardial infarction, and saphenous vein grafts, despite the absence of convincing trial efficacy data in some of these circumstances.

متن کاملA Case of Iatrogenic Intra-Stent Coronary Dissection after Biolimus-Eluting Stent Deployment in the Left Main Coronary Artery
We encountered a case of an iatrogenic intra-stent coronary dissection at the guiding catheter engagement in 6-month follow-up angiography after a biolimuseluting stent implantation in the left main coronary artery (LMCA). The optical coherence tomography revealed peeling of the thin neointima inside the stent and thrombus formation. We made a reentry through the dissected lumen with the guide ...

BACKGROUND Surveillance conventional coronary angiography (CCA) is recommended 2 to 6 months after stent-supported left main coronary artery (LMCA) percutaneous coronary intervention due to the unpredictable occurrence of in-stent restenosis (ISR), with its attendant risks. Multislice computed tomography (MSCT) is a promising technique for noninvasive coronary evaluation. We evaluated the diagn...

e read with interest the manuscript by Kubo et al. (1) omparing vascular response after sirolimus-eluting stenting etween patients with unstable and stable angina by optical oherence tomography (OCT). We agree with the authors egarding the contribution of OCT when post-stenting aniography proves ambiguous. In the drug-eluting stent era, stent under-expansion reains a major predictor of subacute...

After the introduction of coronary stenting, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) was established as the most reliable imaging tool to guide stenting in complex lesions, including coverage of ostial lesions, bifurcation lesions, left main stenting, and chronic total occlusions; and is helpful in determining the cause of stent failures, including in-stent restenosis. These features once verified by I...
